My name is Matyáš Mutina. I was born in Brno in 2007, and I have been actively interested in nature photography since I was eleven years old. I discovered this hobby completely spontaneously when, on a family trip, I borrowed a small compact camera from my parents for the first time.
I spend most of my time in the nature of South Moravia, which offers me plenty of interesting and unusual moments from the lives of animals every year. I try to approach photography as creatively as possible and aim to keep my portfolio diverse. I often try to capture animals in their natural environment, but I also enjoy taking a classic “field guide” shot. :-)
My Gear
When I first started taking photographs, I used small compact cameras, often referred to as superzooms.
My first camera was a Nikon Coolpix P900, which served me wonderfully for several years. Over time, I learned to pay attention to composition, backgrounds, foregrounds, and other factors that influence the final photograph. It was only when I reached the point where its limitations began to significantly restrict me that I started borrowing my dad’s Sony RX10 IV, which already offered image quality comparable to that of some DSLRs.

Awards
Over the years that I have been involved in photography, I have had the opportunity to receive several awards. The past two years have been particularly significant for me, as I have placed in several prestigious competitions, including international competitions with entries from around the world.
